Note: Russell had moved from Hall County GA to Harrisville TX, and died in Temple, Bell County TX in 1908. This is very near GoatNeck, and Mustang Springs where the Pierces settled in 1842.

" Small world Isn't it? His middle name was actually Jasper. Since,
as town secretary, he wrote the charter and by-laws for the town of
Auraria,named for his home town in Georgia, and which was incorporated
into the town of Denver, his was considered by historians as
the father of Denver."
